PANDEMIC (H1NI0 2009) - 'swine flu'

Our school has taken the following steps to help prevent the spread of the pandemic:
  • All pupils have been instructed in the 'catch it, kill it, bin it' etiquette.
  • All pupils have been instructed to wash their hands after sneezing or coughing and have been taught a method for same.
  • Anti-bacterial hand wash and paper hand towels are available in all classrooms and toilet facilities.
  • Each class has a supply of tissues. Parents are asked to send a small pack of tissues with their children in their school bags.
  • A parental advice sheet (link below) is available from the school and will be discussed at our Parents' Information Meeting at 7pm on Monday, 7th September, 2009.
  • Surfaces are cleaned regularly to kill germs.
  • Information posters are hung throughout the school.

Our third cohort of Parents' Computer Classes this year is well underway. So far the participants have covered, computer basics, word processing, paint and pictures and e-mail and the internet. In the remaining two sessions we will continue to focus on internet use. Classes take place on Tuesday nights from 7.30 until 9pm.

Monopoly in Third Class

The boys of Third Class have been working hard on their Monopoly skills, every Wednesday afternoon for the past three weeks.

They have invited adults from home into their class to play the game with them.
So far, lots of adults have taken part.

All this fun is in preparation for the NCI Inter-Schools Monopoly Competition, taking place on Thursday, April 2nd in the college.

On the night our boys will take on competitors from St. Laurence O'Toole's Girls' School, St. Joseph's Eastwall, City Quay N.S. and Ringsend. Three of our parents will act as bankers for the night too.

The games will continue for the next two weeks, on Wednesdays from 1.45 until 2pm.
